I’m a San Francisco, CA based artist (formerly Washington, DC) focused on doing large abstract pieces that are often connected with reality in some way, either through specific photographs or the general metaphor of a landscape or seascape. The techniques I use are inspired by Gerhard Richter’s “abstrakt bild” paintings and Mark Francis’ representation of natural order in the midst of chaos. My technique involves using canvas-sized tools to apply paint and scrape it away as layers are built up over time. You can see this in the gestural creation and wet-on-wet technique in each painting, balanced with the structure and balance of both shape and color.

If you have any questions or are interested in stopping by, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I will also work directly with you on commissions for large format pieces. Prices are listed in the captions for each painting in the gallery and commissioned pieces generally start at around $800.
